Why Tallow?

Tallow is purified beef suet.

Not to be confused with the fat you see when you cook!

Tallow has been used in skincare for centuries and has been around far longer than those chemical filled products you find on the shelf in stores!

Tallow contains the same fats or lipids found in our skin. Lipids are beneficial because they create a protective barrier that prevents infection, maintains moisture, flexibility, and structure of the cell.

Tallow is extremely compatible with the oil that our skin naturally produces. It actually shares a similar biology. That’s one of the reasons why our skin is able to use tallow so effectively.

Beef tallow, rendered from grass-fed cattle, is loaded with vitamins A, D & K and antioxidants. One of which is vitamin E, known to promote rejuvenation of the skin by fighting free radicals that can cause wrinkles.

The natural antimicrobial properties in tallow help to prevent acne and breakouts. Tallow also contains powerful anti-inflammatory properties that help alleviate symptoms of eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, cracked skin, sunburn, diaper rash, slobber rash, rashy rash.... you name it!

Soothing:

Tallow has antimicrobial, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory properties. This makes it great for eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, cracked skin, scrapes, sunburn, diaper rash, slobber rash, and more.

Protection:

It contains high concentrations of fat-soluble vitamins A, D, and K. These vitamins can easily absorb into the skin to stimulate collagen production and skin cell renewal. They also deliver antioxidants to shield skin from free radical damage and prevent signs of aging.

Deep Moisturizer:

Tallow contains fatty acids close to that of our own skin, which makes it incredibly compatible. It has effective skin replenishing properties which makes it an excellent moisturizer.

Noncomedogenic:

Tallow does not clog pores because it closely resembles our skin's natural lipids, which means it absorbs seamlessly into the skin without causing congestion. The key to tallow's pore-friendly nature lies in its fatty acid composition. Tallow is a beautiful blend of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids, making it highly compatible with our skin's natural oils. Unlike other skincare products, it forms a shield on the skin, partly blocking it, and helps control the amount of oil the skin produces.
